December Stay Connected's Annual Holiday Party & Tour at Laws Whiskey House Was a Success

Our APICS annual holiday party at Laws Whiskey House in Denver was a smashing success. There is no better way to cap off an incredible year of tours and networking than with great company over some of Colorado’s best whiskey. The founder of Laws Whiskey House, Al Laws, came to Colorado after working on Wall Street with a dream to make top quality whiskey with no shortcuts and no compromises. They source locally and nurture each and every bottle made like it was their own child. Through passion and perseverance they have truly accomplished a whiskey to be sought-after by whiskey lovers everywhere.

Starting with grain from family-owned Colorado Malting Company out of Alamosa, Colorado and corn from Briess Mallting in Chilton, Wisconsin, they use a traditional, and far more intensive method of open-air fermentation.

Laws Whiskey House lives by a few simple rules they call their mantra. Craft over commodity. Quality over quantity. Whiskey above all.

Their fourth rule is, “There are no short cuts.” These principles appear on the walls of their distillery and guide every decision they make.

The ownder, Al Laws, described his process.

A head distiller discusses their craft.

After an excellent tour of the distillery and getting to know the products a bit better, we heard from our partners at Denver OED. TEC-P is a regional program to connect the hidden tech talent market with Information Technology and Advanced Manufacturing careers. They received a grant for $6.2 Million dollars over 4 years to train and place 593 people in the state of Colorado.

Our guest speaker, Liz Ojeda, from Denver OED, Office of Economic Development, gave us an in depth look at how they are rolling this out to people all over Colorado over the next couple of years.

Thank you to all our partners who attended like these folks from ISM!

We spent the rest of the night networking between all of the different partner groups that came to join us:  ISM, SME, ASQ, CSCMP and CAMA. We are ready to launch 2016 with a bang!

Congratulations to our raffle winners who won some lovely bottles of Laws Whiskey!
