This year APICS NOCO is proud to have kicked off the 1st annual Connect Fore Classic golf tournament. Nineteen foursomes set out at the Highland Meadows Golf Course on Saturday, May 24 to support the Colorado State University College of Business. Together, golfers raised more than $6,000 to support scholarships and other worthy educational initiatives.
It was a great day for golf! The weather was brilliant and the course was in immaculate condition. Grand Prizes were awarded to teams finishing in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Everybody came away with at least one prize, including the unfortunate team who finished last who received the fitting prize of a golf lesson with Nick "The Hammer" Herrera from Mile High Power Golf. Special category prizes were also awarded for contests held throughout the day. For longest distance drive, the winner, Josh Moe, achieved a distance of 315 yards! Upon completion of golf a barbeque style lunch was served on the patio overlooking the course.
Participating golfers represented a broad cross-section of businesses and industries in Northern Colorado. Representatives from Sun Microsystems, Forney Industries, Copan Systems, and Hitachi Consulting participated. Corporate sponsors were Advanced Energy Industries of Fort Collins and Sun Microsystems of Broomfield. A number of other businesses provided support through hole sponsorships. The College of Business and APICS-NOCO would like to thank them all for their generous support.
CSU’s College of Business and APICS-NOCO have enjoyed a collaborative and expanding relationship to provide students excellent education in supply chain and operations management. The money raised from this year’s golf tournament provides the financial support students need. In addition, APICS-NOCO provides quality instruction to students to earn the Certified Supply Chain Analyst designation before they graduate, boosting their value to employers as they begin their careers.
This was the first golf tournament designed to support students in CSU’s College of Business. By all accounts, it was a successful event. See you next Spring! |
